How your donation reaches them

  1. Survey

Our field team visits the village and tests where water is most reliable.

  2. Drilling

Engineers drill the borehole and test the water quality.

  3. Solar pump and tank

Solar panels, a pump and a raised storage tank are fitted.

  4. Handover

The village water committee takes over, and you receive photos and a report.

When the rains fail, hand pumps and open wells run dry. A solar borehole keeps pumping through the driest months, giving families clean water close to home.

Our field team surveys each village, drills where water is reliable, and fits a solar pump with a raised storage tank. A local water committee is trained to look after the system, and our team returns to check it.

Why we do it

Questions

Why solar instead of a hand pump?

Solar pumps work through the dry season, need no fuel and serve far more people each day.

Who looks after the water point?

Each village elects a water committee, trained by our field team, with our staff returning for checks.

Can I dedicate a well to someone?

Yes. You can add plaque wording when you donate, and we send you photos once it is installed.

Can I give my Zakat to water?

Yes. Tick the Zakat option when you donate and it is routed accordingly.
